In excess of twelve-year Wall Street experience made me a very opinionated type of guy. Believe it or not, nowadays I tend to listen better to common-sense rich opinions. After the MBA graduation I joined Citibank – Salomon Smith Barney, where for the first time I discovered how to listen to CNBC while sleeping. The following day I was swimming with the sharks, trading FX & Interest Rate derivatives. Luckily enough I managed to survive on both ends of the pond: New York and London. After the induction stage I moved to a hedge fund dealing single-name stocks. Eventually, the trading pressure took its toll and I decided to switch to JP Morgan managing market risk across credit derivatives. In late 2005 the hottest girl on Wall Street happened to be called CDO. Consequently, I embraced a new endeavor managing risk across Structured Credit Products. And the story keeps evolving…
Though I have always despised its utterly inefficient education system, Romania signifies the core of my academic background – a degree in Engineering and a degree in Economics. My American graduate school experience anticipated a closure to the academic endeavors. Frankly speaking, I reckon that the MBA degree will not turn to be my last word. Somewhere down the road, when the real-life understanding will call for a PhD, I am going to make that move.
Bottom line, I have been and I will always be a cold-blooded demanding type of person. People close to my heart reckon that I will never change and I tend to agree with them.
